OLD QUARTER HANOI CYCLO
Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam, and Old Quarter in Hanoi is really the symbol and the eternal soul of Hanoi Capital. Hanoi’s Old Quarter is of pride for history that spans 2,000 years and the famed 36 streets that each of them had merchants and households specialized in a particular trade, such as silk traders, herbal medicine, vessel, bamboo, drum, etc.
Although the damages left by the war in Hanoi, the Old Quarter still retained much of the original traits that interests tourists, especially those with daily life style and architectural passion. The street life reflects the most the Vietnamese daily life with all its color, noise and smells. In addition to that is the house designs specializing Vietnamese business mind. The difference is also made by the imprint of communism since 1945 as most of that house can be home for over 50 people, and more. The poverty of the country for a while has even frozen the quarter (and the country) but it turns out to be great that the image of yesterday has been well preserved (as no spending has been used to rebuild the houses).
The trip to Hanoi Old quarter then is a beautiful trip for the nostalgia, and the architecture adorers. However, the small street is not 100% safe and comfortable for walking travelers. So we organize the Old Quarter Hanoi cyclo trip where you sit on a traditional three wheel rickshaw, pushed by a Hanoi man who earn his and his family’s living on this vehicle. You will get more freedom on the cyclo to see more, smell more, hear more, and picture more the beautiful moments of the place.
